2 of Hearts, "Childhood"

Mom, AKA Ruth Ann Landry, is hosting a Deck of Art challenge where each week a card and a theme is chosen. Any media, and your take on the theme. This week was 2 of Hearts and the theme is "Childhood." Pretty simple . . . sheet music background, collage image, hand drawn chair, quote strip from book and foam stamp stolen from my daughter. Theink used for the stamp was Fired Brick Distress ink and the images are outlined in gold leafing pen. The only think I see that I would like to have changed would be to ground her somehow . . . her chair is "floating" in midair.

Frou Frou Tag Book

I've hosted and been involved in so many tag swaps (not to mention the zillion I've made myself!) that I've been dying to make a tag book. I happened to have some chipboard book pages someone RAKed to me, covered them with some pretty Wild Asparagus papers I've been hoarding since at least 06, made some pockets, added some binder rings and ribbon and voila!

12 x 12 Tag Book Cover

I played around on Saturday with my mini sewing machine (piece of junk BTW), some fabric and paper. I used the yummy anti-Valntine tags I made to decorate the cover. I love gel medium!

My Scrap Space

My entry for last week's Club Scrap Pro Scarpbooker's League (PSL) challenge. We were to post a photo or layout of our scrappin' space. I used Club Scrap's Body and Soul collection for this layout.

Abstract ATC's

For some unknown reason, Blogger wants to put everything I post on its side, but in this case it doesn't matter much . . . these were done with random strokes of acrylic paints on white cardstock, then cut to ATC size and doodled on with black Pitt pen.

Ross Park Zoo

The basis for theis layout was actually the butterfly on the left page. C hristyB of the PAO forum posted a weekend challenge using scraps inside a negative die cut image. I used my favorite butterfly from Cricut's Home Accents cartridge. The bright colors went with these fun photos of the girls at Ross Park Zoo last summer. All papers (except scraps and black negative image) from Club Scrap's Polynesian crafter remix.

A Good Egg

Round Robin ATC swap hosted by my momma! These are a really cool concept . . . teams of three . . . one does the backgrounds, one does the focals, and the last person embellies and sends to each of the other team members. The extra goes to the swap organizer. I love the whimsical collage focals used here. I'm told it's by Artchix Studios.

Surprise Ball Swap hosted by Luanne

I got all this cool stuff wrapped up within a big ball of fibers from Rachelle in Arizona. See all those cool fibers in the white bin? There were all sorts of cool crafty things in there like big flowers, small gingerbread eyelets, a cool strip of denim with metal snaps, strips of music, beads and other assorted baubles! Fun Valentine's Day surprises!

You & Me

Used Club Scrap Polynesian Remix for this layout. It was entered in a challenge at PAO. Wasn't sure I liked it at first (those pics were hard to work with!) but after adding the die cuts and red glitter I kinda like it!

There is no remedy for love . . .

than to love more - Henry David Thoreau

Created this layout for Christy's weekend challenge. Used here are papers from Club Scrap's Ivory Elegance collection, Dec 06, letter stamps used for quote: studio g, flower stamp: Impression Obsession.

I also stumbled across this blog today with a giveaway: http://tashasdesignworld.blogspot.com/2009/01/celebrating-with-blog-candy.html

Button Fairy

So, I joined a Button Fairy swap on the PAO forum. Turns out I fell deeply in love! These little babies are so easy to make you can use stuff you have lying around or in your stash! For this darling little critter I used a few buttons, wire, grungeboard, inks, paints, embossing powder, jewel crystals, and some fibers. ALL from my stash. She came together in less than an hour (not counting drying time).
